Looks like it’s time for another pot of coffee, then several hours of creating a ToDo list which can be ignored until an undetermined time in the future. That’s what weekends are all about, right?

Took the mutt out when I got home, watched a little TV, drank half a beer and nearly fell asleep in front of the TV. I’m turning into John Cole over here!  Of course Chachi was ready and rarin’ to go at 5:30AM so here we are, bleary-eyed and working my way through a second pot of coffee with NPR in the background.

It looks to be a busy weekend, as I’ve let the domestic work fall far behind the last few weeks. It’s been a gloomy Spring and today is not bringing any relief from the gray skies, so looks like laundry and cleaning will be playing the role of exciting holiday weekend activities. And you thought Life in Smalltown, USA was boring!

Since I missed the FNDC, I’m working on the Random 12 pack this morning. To be honest, I’m hoping for some mellow tunes since I’m not fully functional yet. We’ll see…  I’ll be back later with more highly relevant and deeply interesting thoughts.

Saddened to see the news of Gil Scott-Heron’s passing this morning.

I decided that before I start writing my own totally gnarly posts here, I’d use the Cabin as a sandbox site to work on a layout for a local client. Oy fricking veh, what a pain in the ass!

Our current theme has some neat functions, then I found another theme that looked a little nicer and had some nicer functions. But, of course, what I really wanted was hybrid of the two sites. No problem! Except for all the problems in trying to combine all those sweet functions into one theme and maintain a clean-looking site. I love WordPress and all the cool stuff the WP community comes up with, but trying to marry php functions and css styling from different sites is a right ball buster. 

Anyhoo – I think I’ve got it set well enough that we could use it for the client’s site and not feel too bad about it.

I have to put in some time at the part time job tonite, but I’m hoping to resurrect the FNDC when I get home. Wish me luck!
